Drinks and forbidded substances?

/The question is about coffee, tea, sports and "energy" drinks in particular/

Since this is World Championship, are there any doping controls and regulations we should be aware of? If so, could you please provide explanation what drinks/amounts are considered to be "safe" and what-forbidden?

I shall advice all competitors to read through the IRF Rules of Rogaining. The direct link is provided in Bulletin No2, but I enclose it also here:
http://www.rogaining.com/rules.html
Rule A3:
The IRF supports the policy of the International Olympic Committee banning the use of performance-enhancing substances by participants.

You can find the list of prohibited substances at the web-site of the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency):
http://www.wada-ama.org/rtecontent/document/2008_List_En.pdf

Caffeine is not considered as prohibited substance (see page 8 of the WADA document). You do not find in the WADA list also taurine, which is the main stimulatory compound in energy drinks.
