Weather forecast

Rogainers who complained about the weather at the 7WRC in Australia, that it was too hot and dry, your prayers have been listened to. The 8WRC is likely to be the complete opposite - wet and cold! Well, one would say "Logical!" as this the opposite site of the globe.

The current local weather forecast for the next weekend is - showers, temperatures +6-8 C, possible night frost.

Accuweather predicts: Chilly; a bit of snow and rain at times in the morning followed by periods of rain in the afternoon.

Norvegians are most optimistic. They predict daytime temperatures as high as +12 C, dropping to +7 C at night and minimal probability of rain.

Be prepared for chilly weather! Thermosocks and gloves may proove useful gear.

By the way, just yesterday it was +24 C in South Estonia and +16 C at night.

The chance of rain is quite small on Sat/Sun.

The chance of snowy rain is nealy zero because of not so cold airmass (AccuWeather is not so trustworthy)

You can see over 5mm rain chance forecast map at http://www.emhi.ee/index.php?ide=14,168 .

One night before it's better to check out http://www.emhi.ee/index.php?ide=14,111 - small model.

Forecast for Petseri (50 E of WRC) at http://www.gismeteo.ru/towns/99542.htm (quite trustworthy forecast)

Indeed, the forecast has improved a bit.
The current low pressure area should move further to east by tomorrow afternoon and from Thursday a high pressure area should settle in for the week-end. This means low probability of rain, but cold air moving in from the north. In turn, that implies ground temperatures dropping below zero during night (up to minus 3).

Looks good at the moment. But probably the forecast will change several times before the weekend.
