The national currency in Estonia is Estonian kroon (EEK) and all payments in Estonia are made in kroons.
In Bulletin No3, the cost equivalent in Euros is given for information purposes (the exchange rate is fixed by law at 1 EUR = 15.6466 EEK).
In fact, you will see in many shops in Estonia that the price is indicated both in EEK and EUR (the latter is usually in smaller figures), but you can pay only in kroons.
However, in towns, the dominant form of payment is "plastic money", i.e. all major credit cards are accepted.

The nearest ATMs and bank branch offices are in Antsla, ~15 km to the north from Ähijärve. There are also several ATM-s in Valga and Võru and one in Rõuge.
